James M “Jim” Scofield, SIOR, serves as senior investment advisor for
Sperry Van Ness, specializing in multifamily properties in central North
Carolina. With over 27 years of industry experience, he has secured more
than 432 transactions with a sales volume valued over $291 million.
Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Scofield served as a senior broker for
Anthony & Co. He also served as vice president and partner of Colliers-Seeley, a full-service commercial real estate firm in Los Angeles,
California.
Scofield’s extensive background includes representing private investors,
small businesses and large corporations in the analysis, purchase, sale
and lease of multifamily, industrial, office, laboratory and R & D properties. Past corporate clients include: BASF, Dow Chemical, EG&G, Inkel Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric, The Prudential Realty Group, Reynolds Metals, Sharp Electronics Corporation, Shimizu Corporation, American Standard and Kawai.
Career highlights include: receiving the Sperry Van Ness Achiever’s
Award; the Roy Seeley top producer award from Colliers Seeley; and the
“Largest Single Industrial Transaction” award from the Carolinas
Chapter-Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.

Scofield earned Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of
Science in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.
Scofield loves to golf, bike ride and play his guitar. He puts action to his strong faith through his community involvement and leadership work with
the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Troop Chaplain for his son’s Boy
Scout troop and in various ministries at his church.
