Jared Lack is a Senior Vice President in the retail division of CBRE’s New York office. He represents both retailers and landlords, specializing in lease negotiations, site selection and dispositions, as well as retail strategy development. Jared joined CBRE in March of 2020 after more than 15 years at Newmark, where he worked as a Managing Director.
As a landlord representative, Mr. Lack has extensive experience partnering with both existing buildings and new developments in Manhattan that are owned by some of the city’s most high-profile real estate owners, co-ops and independent landlords. For Empire State Realty Trust, Mr. Lack helped reposition more than 40,000 sq. ft. of retail space at 1 Grand Central while simultaneously representing more than 100,000 sq. ft. of retail space in three of its buildings. He also exclusively represented NYU to fully lease its retail portfolio in Manhattan. His current and past client list includes TH Real Estate (formerly TIAA-CREF), Invesco, Stonehenge Properties, APF Properties, Empire State Realty Trust, Costa Land Company, Douglaston Development, Highgate Holdings, ACTA Realty/Wolfson and New York University, among others.
Mr. Lack is equally well known as an extremely valuable and creative tenant representative. He worked extensively with Vineyard Vines on its NYC flagship, Eton Shirts on its U.S. flagship and showroom; The Kooples on its U.S. flagship and rollout; and Wagamama on its New York City entrance and expansion including deals at 210 Fifth Avenue, 605 Third Avenue and its U.S. flagship at 1345 Avenue of the Americas. Mr. Lack also represented Le Pain Quotidien in planning and implementing its initial expansion throughout New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and Connecticut. Other New York City retailers that Mr. Lack has represented include Fossil, Aldo Shoes, Ziani Men’s Wear, Darden Restaurants’ The Capital Grille (2 locations), the Michelin Star-rated Aldea, and the NYC franchisee of Cousin’s Maine Lobster (notable from the show, Shark Tank).
