Jason D. Richter CRX, CLS is Managing Principal at HUDSON, spearheading their Advisory, Acquisition and Development division. Jason has spent over a decade leading both leasing for one of the world’s premier landlords as well as head of Real Estate for some of the nation’s largest retail brands.
Mr. Richter most recently oversaw the bankruptcy for American Apparel where he negotiated over $10,000,000 in savings while also managing their entire global real estate portfolio. He currently provides transaction management and brokerage services to several retailers, accounting for over 600 stores in 18 countries. On the landlord side, Jason’s main focus is servicing HUDSON’s institutional agency business. His vast experience includes both new developments, existing asset repositioning/rebranding as well as extensive work in the national high street, enclosed regional mall and outlet space.
As Vice President of Real Estate, Construction and Facilities for both Perfumania and Ricky’s NYC, Richter oversaw and directed domestic and international site selection for the brand’s new locations and their existing portfolio of approximately 400 enclosed mall, outlet and high street stores in addition to all corporate real estate including offices and distribution centers. Prior to this role, Richter was the Head of Real Estate for the country’s largest urban lifestyle retailer with over 200 stores nationwide. Earlier in his career he served as Senior Leasing Manager for Thor Equities, a New York based developer who owns and manages a multi- billion dollar real estate portfolio consisting of retail, office, hotel and mixed-use assets throughout the United States and abroad. Richter had been with the firm from 2003- 2009.
Jason served as ICSC’s New York/New Jersey State Director from 2011-2014 as well as sits on the RECON Planning Committee. He is also proudly co-chairing the New York ICSC Conference in 2015 and 2016.
