Jay Dowlen is a First Vice President with CB Richard Ellis' Atlanta tenant representation group, providing brokerage and consulting services to a wide variety of clients in the Atlanta area. Before entering the commercial real estate industry, Dowlen was a successful attorney, giving him a unique background and combination of talents that integrate transactional skills with analytical and advisory expertise.
During his career, he has provided real estate solutions for companies such as AG Edwards & Sons, America Online, Cobbs Allen & Hall, Cogent Communications, Georgia Railway Consultants, GTE Directories, Metromedia Fiber Network Services, PLI Brokerage and Hobbs Group.
Dowlen was formerly a Managing Director with Insignia/ESG, prior to that firm's merger with CB Richard Ellis. Before joining Insignia/ESG, Dowlen was a broker with Cushman & Wakefield. Before that, he was an attorney with Garland Samuel & Loeb. Dowlen's legal career also included positions with the District Attorney's office, and clerkships with the Supreme Court of Georgia and Martin Snow Grant & Napier.
Dowlen earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and then graduated from the Mercer University School of Law. He is active in the University of Georgia alumni programs, and served as the Chairman of the 10th Year Georgia School Reunion of his graduating class and was the past 2001 Chairman of the Marist school's annual Alumni Golf Tournament.
