Maui REALTOR®(S) Jeannie Kong-Evarts loves her work, and it shows in the results she produces for her clients.
Jeannie was a former recipient of The REALTOR®(S) salesperson of the year in 2018. This honor is bestowed on agents not just for their business accomplishments, but also for their spirit, character, professionalism, and volunteer work.
Real estate has always been part of Jeannie’s life. Working for new companies and scouting out locations in New York City. She understood the value of “location and upcoming trends”. However, design was in her blood, so she attended NYU and Parsons School of Design. She soon had a successful career in New York working in both the fashion industry and subsequently in interior design. After moving to Hawaii in the late 90’s, she continued working in interior design and began investing in real estate.
In 2006, when she sensed the time was right to sell, she obtained a real estate license in order to sell her own properties. When friends began imploring her to help them, a new career was born.
However, Jeannie didn’t abandon design. Today she uses her skills to advise sellers in ways to make their homes more appealing to buyers; to help buyers envision what they can do to make a home their own; and to market her listings. Each home is unique, and she loves using her creativity to bring that value angle to her marketing.
In addition to being a high producing agent, a wife, and Mom to four wonderful young adults, she finds time to volunteer and to expand her education. Her volunteer activities are and have centered around the Realtor Association of Maui, the Maui Hospital Foundation, and Maui County’s students, for whom she seeks to improve educational experiences and opportunities. She’s presently on the committee of the Wishing Well Foundation.
Real estate is ever-changing, so Jeannie keeps careful watch on the Maui markets. In addition, she continues to educate herself in real estate and technology. Toward that end, she has earned several REALTOR®(S) designations, including CRS (“Certified Residential Specialist” is the highest credential awarded to residential sales agents, managers and brokers), SRS (Sellers Representation Specialist), GREEN (cutting edge technology to save resources and promote healthier living) and e-Pro (to understand technology to best serve clients efficiently).
While she loves working with high-end luxury buyers and sellers, Jeannie also gets great satisfaction from helping first-time buyers achieve home ownership. Her favorite clients are those with a can-do and positive mindset.
Jeannie’s clients rely on her to keep their best interests at heart, and to give them all the information and time they need to make informed decisions. She focuses first on understanding their needs, wishes, and goals. Then she offers her expertise, knowledge, and advice.
Her goal is to do what’s best for each client, so they will be truly happy with the end result. It is this goal that has earned her positive reviews, referrals, repeat business, and best of all – the friendship of past client
