Bio
Prior to entering the real estate field, Jerry’s background included 20 years of management, sales, and marketing for Equifax in Appleton and Green Bay, WI, St. Louis, MO, and Atlanta, GA. Previously he was engaged as a regional representative for Commerce Clearing House of Chicago.
Jerry entered the real estate field in 1977 as a manager of a new residential office for Coldwell Banker in Appleton.
?Five months later he opened a Commercial Division for the same company, and a year later converted that Division to a new company of which he became a 50% owner.
Eighteen months later he bought out his partner and formed his own company. ?Bechard Investments, Inc. had as its initial primary focus the listing and sale of commercial real estate. The day he formed the new company in 1980 the prime rate was 21%, however he was confident of the commercial market and the country moving forward.
An expansion into the construction field followed shortly thereafter under the name Bechard Construction, Inc. He then formed Equity Growth, Inc., an NASD Broker Dealer company for the purpose of raising capital to enter the development business.
?Finally Bechard Group,Inc. was established as a holding company to provide an umbrella under which the various entities became involved in all aspects of commercial-investment real estate including market research, feasibility analysis, site selection, acquisition, development, construction, leasing, management , reversion and 1031 exchanges.
?By the time he sold his entire operation in 2005 (including the name), the Bechard Group was responsible for over 200 million dollars in residential and commercial real estate development in Wisconsin and Florida through the formation of some 30 LLC’s and Limited Partnerships. Jerry now operates under the name Bechard Prime concentrating on developing real estate investment packages meeting the criteria of his cliental.
