Jim has represented tenants and owners and has developed various retail shopping centers as a principal. Jim is efficient and tenacious when negotiating and thrives on critical and time constrained assignments.
Jim has solid experience on the tenant side. He was instrumental in regional store development efforts for Caribou Coffee Company during it’s initial store roll out. He then expanded his “in-house” experience by leading regional development for Einstein Noah Restaurant Group. Jim’s strong results with ARES group reflect his firsthand knowledge of Landlord perspectives gained while he was Director of Leasing and Research at Peachtree Center, a large mixed use office / retail project in downtown Atlanta.
Jim’s owner / developer experience includes executive positions with Zaremba Group and BVT Institutional Investments. He was responsible for CVS Drugstore development and multiple build-to-suit projects. In addition, Jim led a large acquisition effort for offshore clients focused on grocery-anchored shopping centers. He founded Apache Capital, LLC in 2005 to develop and joint venture retail projects in the Southeast. He is also involved in entitling land for Multifamily and Single-Family build to rent communities. Jim began his career working with Arthur Andersen & Co in New York City in domestic and international corporate tax.
Jim has an MBA in Finance from Miami University and a BSBA from Bowling Green State University. Jim is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Georgia.
