Bio
Jim has been a licensed real estate agent since 2004 and has held a Managing Broker designation since 2009. He has worked my entire real estate career within the same company, office, and brokerage. He works in both residential and commercial sales. Jim has a background in construction and as a small business owner in both the north Seattle area and the Main Line area of Philadelphia. Jim has a degree in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, and has been a resident of west Mount Vernon since 1993 with his wife and two adult daughters. He has listed and sold residential and commercial real estate throughout Skagit, Whatcom, Snohomish and King counties. He has extensive experience in vacant land, new construction, waterfront properties, and luxury homes. Jim has also served on many local volunteer boards. He was chairman of the Skagit County Board of Equalization for many years - this is the quasi-judicial board that mediates property valuation disputes between property owners and the Skagit County Assessor's Office. He also served for several years as the chair of the Scholarship Committee for the Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon. Jim currently serves on the Farmland Legacy Board, a county organization that works with landowners wishing to place conservation easements on their farmlands. He is also on the Skagit Land Trust, a non-profit organization that works to preserve open space and habitat lands throughout Skagit county, where he serves as the President. He holds the designation of Managing Broker, the highest real estate licensure in Washington. He is also a Certified Residential Specialist and an active member of the Commercial Brokers Association. Jim has been fortunate to have many repeat customers and referrals over the years, due to his knowledge, effectiveness, and work ethic.
