Jim Magnanenzi joins National Realty Network with an extensive background in corporate America.
His education includes a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, followed by a master’s degree in real estate from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. (He’s proud to be a Badger!)
Jim’s first exposure to real estate was with The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. He spent 15 years here, learning about mortgage lending, asset management, and developing large commercial real estate projects - including office buildings, shopping centers, industrial buildings and apartments.
Jim leveraged his lending experience by joining the Chicago office of a large Japanese trust bank. He established then managed its real estate office for eight years. Jim specialized in construction and permanent lending. The projects he was involved with ranged from resort hotels to high-rise office buildings, and the loan portfolio exceeded $300 million in fixed and floating rate debt.
Following the departure of the Japanese banks from Chicago’s lending scene, Jim joined a large real estate developer. His responsibilities ranged from project finance to self storage development to commercial brokerage.
Then Jim decided to co-found Barrington Home Loans Corporation. This firm provided financing for homeowners to purchase owner-occupied, one-to-four family properties and second home financing.
Now Jim draws on his experiences in finance and commercial real estate to serve National Realty Network clients in the greater Barrington area.
He is active in the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce and stays on top of national real estate issues through his membership in the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association.
