Bio
Jim Payne grew up in Orlando, where he completed his education journey by graduating from Boone High School and later the University of Central Florida. In 1982, he received a commission in the US Army, spending four years stationed in Germany. Upon his return from overseas, Jim dedicated two years to local law enforcement before making the pivotal decision to transition into the real estate industry. He accepted a position as a Property Manager with Coldwell Banker, where he held this semi-temporary role for over a quarter of a century, expertly overseeing approximately one hundred residential properties.
In late 2014, Jim embarked on a new chapter in his career when he joined Don Asher and Associates, becoming a licensed property manager. He acknowledged that there are various paths one can take with a real estate license, with property management often considered one of the less glamorous but highly demanding roles. He firmly believed that this area required a profound level of skill and experience to effectively represent clients. With his extensive twenty-five-year tenure as a property manager, Jim developed acute instincts and deep insights into creating and managing a real estate investment portfolio.
Jim Payne's typical clientele comprised individuals who owned condominiums and houses in the Greater Orlando area. His responsibilities included identifying suitable properties for purchase, locating reliable tenants, and overseeing rent collection and maintenance. Jim held the firm conviction that there were numerous avenues for investment, but few consistently offered the safety and stability of physical assets like real estate. Given Orlando's status as a thriving market attracting new residents annually, he noted the positive impact on property appreciation, both in terms of sales prices and rental rates.
For those contemplating real estate investments, Jim was always eager to share his insights. Additionally, for prospective tenants seeking an exceptional place to reside, Jim encouraged them to reach out and explore the options he could provide.
