Jim Sweenie has been a commercial real estate broker in the Phoenix area since the late 70's. This activity included real estate brokerage at Del Webb Realty & Management until that division closed in the mid 80's. While remaining in Phoenix , thereafter he operated as an independent broker dealing in apartments and apartment tax credits until taking a position as REO Manager at Security Savings. When Security Savings was closed by the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) he went on to be employed by the (RTC) to market raw land in Phoenix and Tucson through auctions and sealed bids. He was later detailed to Washington DC for two years, assembling and marketing 1.5 billion dollars of failed S&L assets through the National Land Fund. Upon completion and successful sale of that project he returned to Phoenix . Shortly thereafter he took a position with SunChase Holdings and was soon assigned to be project manager for a 350 acre mixed use project in South San Francisco . The task there was to rebuild two of the subdivisions, repair and manage the endangered species habitats, repair landslides and obtain new entitlements from the City. Upon the sale of that South San Francisco project, he resumed commercial brokerage with Ted Marek Real Estate Company as Associate Broker specializing in raw land for homebuilders and investors.
