Joe Brendel is an associate in Newmark’s Rutherford, New Jersey office where he specializes in both landlord and tenant representation in the New York metro area and nationally.
Joe is a seasoned restaurant developer and operator with over 14 years of experience along the East Coast as a Jimmy John’s franchisee. Given his experience as a retail tenant, Joe passionately consults retailers through site selection, brand strategy, lease negotiations, asset disposition and operational consultation.
Joe represents national, regional and franchise retailers such as Panera Bread, Grocery Outlet, Santander Bank, &pizza, F45, District Taco, Five Guys, Hudson & Co, Tacoria, Doppler Veterinary Network, Taim, Inday and UFC Fitness.
His notable and recent transactions include the leasing of approximately 17,000 SF for UFC Fit at The Plaza at Woodbridge, 13,000 SF for Drift at 1200 Boulevard in Weehawken and the sale of a 5-property portfolio on behalf of Santander Bank. Joe has completed several non-traditional transactions as well including an 11-unit, county-wide portfolio of food court leases as well as pop-ups for Metallica and Be in 3D.
As an owner representative, Joe has advised several property owners on sale and lease transactions including Wakefern Food Corp., Santander Bank, Urban Edge, Optimum Properties and Hornrock Properties.
