Joe DiMitrio has over 13 years of real estate experience specializing in the marketing, disposition, restructuring and mitigation of leased and fee owned real estate both in and out of bankruptcy. Prior to joining A&G, DiMitrio was a Managing Director at DJM Realty and has been involved in the disposition and restructuring of real estate on a nationwide basis for over 75 different retailers. He has successfully sold over 200 owned retail properties, 5 warehouse and distribution centers, and has mitigated over 2,400 leases, saving clients more than $500 Million of lease liability. Key bankruptcy disposition cases include Kmart, Borders Books, Linens & Things, Heilig Meyers, Blockbuster, Winn Dixie and Circuit City. He has also been instrumental in the disposition and restructuring of surplus real estate for healthy companies such as Kaplan Education, Charming Shoppes, and TJX, which earned him co-star’s power broker award two years in a row.
DiMitrio is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Turnaround Management Association, as well as an original member of the ICSC New York Next Generation Commit.
