Current Responsibilities
John Gentry is a member of the Office Brokerage Division. As an Associate Broker of this Division, John provides clients with services for buying and leasing office buildings, buying and leasing light industrial properties and tenant representation services.
Career Summary
John has over 14 years of experience in the sales and leasing of commercial property. Prior to his entry into the real estate business in 1987, John worked as a real estate appraiser and loss control underwriter for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.
Education
John is a Richmond native and graduate of the Collegiate School. He received his BS degree in corporate finance from the University of Alabama in 1984. John has completed the pre-requisite courses of real estate finance, business law, real estate appraisal and real estate brokerage that are required in order to achieve a real estate brokers license. He has also completed a number of Dale Carnegie salesmanship courses, as well as six CCIM courses.
Accomplishments
Since beginning his real estate career, John has been recognized by the Richmond Association of Realtors as a Distinguished Achiever each year since 1988. In June of 1999, John became a principal/owner in Grubb & Ellis | Harrison & Bates. He is married and has two children. John is an avid golfer.
