Bio
During the course of his commercial real estate brokerage career, John has facilitated hundreds of transactions, primarily income-producing real estate. His real estate practice is rooted in careful investment analysis, attentiveness to clients and their objectives, building long-term relationships, and lifelong learning. With a blend of consultation and financial analysis, his primary work ranges from the disposition/acquisition of stabilized assets to value-add and redevelopment projects in Omaha’s urban core. John believes the most successful brokers are the ones who create value and opportunities and solve problems for their clients - earning trust and forming partnerships - not the brokers who are out seeking the highest commissions.
John serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska Omaha teaching RELU 4440 – Real Estate Development. This upper-level interactive course in real estate development is designed to familiarize students with the fundamental terms and concepts used within the real estate development field. John’s goal is to provide students with a solid understanding and ability to apply fundamental real estate development concepts for personal and career endeavors, or for a more in-depth study of advanced real estate topics.
As a board member of The Omaha Municipal Land Bank’s (OMLB), John assists with the goal of partnering with the community to transform Omaha’s distressed properties into positive neighborhood assets. In 2014, John became a founding OMLB board member, a voting board member in 2016, served as the chairman of the board 2019, and will continue to serve through 2022. John feels strongly about helping vacant and abandoned properties that often lack marketability to be put back into productive uses.
For over 50 years, CCIM institute has been building opportunities through its education programs. John received his Certified Commercial Investment Member designation in 2010, and served as the Nebraska chapter president in 2013. In 2016, he served as a national board member and was the Regional Vice President of Region 12. John stays active in local and national CCIM meetings and events.
