Youngest of five brothers, John grew up in Sacramento. He went to Sacred Heart Elementary School, Jesuit High School and graduated from Boston College with a degree from the Carroll School of Management, in Finance. After graduation, he joined Prudential Securities in New York City as a Financial Advisor. In 2003, John returned home where he started a career in commercial real estate with MacLaughlin and Company in West Sacramento, doing leasing and investments. At the end of 2008, he joined Adham, at Socotra Capital, growing it to where it is today. John’s family business, Tony’s Fine Foods, has been part of the business community in Sacramento since 1934. His grandfather, Tony Sr., was a visionary in the food industry. John’s father, Donald, grew Tony’s Fine Foods to be one of the largest privately held food distributors in the nation. Aside from his mother, Pat, John’s greatest influences in life were his father and grandfather. John is a member of the Sacramento Valley Lincoln Club, Del Paso Country Club, Dante Club, and Toastmaster’s Flying I. He has an incredible wife, Shirley, who on top of working as a caregiver raises their two children, Presley, 9, who attends Holy Spirit Elementary and Antonio, 1, who is just learning to walk and talk.
