Joseph P. Austin. and the KW Commercial team create real value for property owners, and investors in the Washington, D.C., and Suburban MD markets with a special focus on Multi-Unit apartments, Class B/C office buildings and retail properties.
Joseph's commercial real estate background extends over the last fifteen years to his acceptance and graduation from the Real Estate Apprenticeship Program (REAP) in 2002 where he qualified for an internship and subsequent full time employment as a class A office building property manager with CarrAmerica. In this role, he oversaw total building operations, including budgeting and reporting as well as lease administration for over 1 million square of office space. He then moved on to the retail sector gaining employment with the nation's foremost shopping center developer, Simon Property Group as a Mall Manager. In this role, he was again tasked with overseeing total project operations, including lease administration, budgeting, and reporting as well as leasing space to short term or temp tenants.
Joseph has been licensed in real estate since 1997 and has been affiliated with KW since 2004. He turned his focus solely to income producing commercial properties in 2016. He is licensed in Washington, DC and Maryland and focuses his marketing efforts, knowledge and skills in the submarkets where he has roots and a commitment to the community and the people in those areas.
His professional and educational background includes a 4-year commitment to the US Marine Corps after high school. After a 12-year stint in the US Postal Service Joseph directed his attention to Real Estate and achieved notable success as a residential agent as well as a mortgage loan originator. He is currently a CCIM candidate.
