Kevin McGowan is the founder of MCREA. He is a sixth generation Philadelphian who learned the commercial real estate business at the foot of his father Jack who has worked in the business since 1977. His primary focus is in the industrial market within the Greater Philadelphia region, with a strong concentration in the Lehigh Valley and Central PA. He has over ten years of direct industrial market experience.
Kevin has earned both the SIOR and CCIM designations. He was named one of nine international "CCIM rising stars" in the July 2007 CIRE magazine and most recently was named a recipient of "40 Under 40" by the Philadelphia Business Journal for 2011.
Kevin has been involved in hundreds of transactions that have included many land deals, industrial and office leases, and the sale of a number of leased investments. He was the driving force behind the initial creation of NGKF''''''''''''''''s National Industrial Market Leadership conference call during his tenure at the firm from 2010 to 2013. He also served on the NGKF Industrial Market Leaders Executive Committee and was a member of its Global Corporate Services Advisory team. In addition, he was one of two representatives from NGKF to attend the IAMC Conferences (Industrial Asset Management Council), open to only to two brokers per national real estate firm. Kevin also worked closely with NGKF parent company Cantor Commercial Real Estate, a direct CMBS lender to identify debt opportunities for industrial property owners.
In 2012, Kevin won the award for the largest industrial transaction by SF for Newmark Knight Frank Smith Mack. Mr. McGowan focuses on logistics decisions made by occupiers and has visited most of the major ports and intermodals in the Eastern Hemisphere including a trip to Panama Canal.
Kevin began his career in 1995 as an IT Consultant for Price Waterhouse. He then spent 7 years working on Wall Street at Multex.com and Sanford Bernstein before entering the industrial real estate business in 2004. He is a graduate of Princeton University and the NYU Stern School of Business.
