Bio
Larry has more than thirty-five years of experience in the commercial office sector in Chicago. His expertise covers leasing, marketing, repositioning, managing, and tenant relationship management. Prior to @properties COMMERCIAL, he was Vice President of Lurie Management, LLC (2001-2006) a wholly owned subsidiary of The Lurie Company, a California corporation founded in 1922 that owned and managed commercial office buildings in Chicago and San Francisco. He was responsible for the leasing, marketing, and tenant relationship management of the LaSalle Wacker Building, the Chase Bank Building at 120 South LaSalle Street, and the 33 North LaSalle Building in Chicago.
He consummated more than 1,300 lease transactions comprising more than 3.5 million square feet. The most significant transactions included the headquarters lease for American National Bank (now Chase) for 350,000 square feet, Proxicom for 75,000 square feet, Protiviti for 50,000 square feet, and Rodman & Renshaw for 50,000 square feet. The aggregate value of these four deals totals more than $300 million.
In addition, he added significant value by helping reposition all of The Lurie Company’s Chicago properties; initially, to enhance their marketability and subsequently, for sale.
Mr. Cohn attended The Latin School of Chicago and Drake University, holds an RPA degree in real estate management and is a licensed real estate salesperson in Illinois. He is also involved in many not-for-profit organizations. He chaired the TOBY committee for BOMA/Chicago, as an alumnus is a member of the Drake University Scholarship Program committee, and actively participates in After School Matters, We Got Game, March of Dimes, Real Men Read, and Principal for a Day.
