Leslie Karr is a Senior Advisor with SVN Commercial Advisory Group with over 20 years of retail real estate experience. Ms. Karr previously held positions at Cornerstone Commercial, Newmark Knight Frank, CB Richard Ellis, Northern Realty Group, and MCL Companies. Recent tenant clients include Habit Burger Grill/Tremendous Brands, Pearle Vision, Natuzzi, Great Play, Peloton Cycle, Francesca Restaurant Group, Duchamp London, Sandbox Industries, Gage Restaurant Group, and See Optical. Landlord representation includes CBS Chicago, Madison Capital, Mark Goodman & Associates, Ricker Murphy Development/MB Real Estate, Pauls Corporation, Hyatt, Renaissance Hotels, and Crowne Plaza. Ms. Karr also consults privately to developers, family trusts, other property owners, and real estate investors on retail development and integration for mixed use, hospitality, and transportation projects on a national scope. She specializes in site selection for the development and implementation of retail tenants’ expansion strategies. She represents developers and owners of high-density, mixed-use properties. Ms. Karr has completed transactions totaling nearly one million square feet in high-profile urban retail developments including River East Center, Piper’s Alley, Old Town Square, Clybourn Square and Lakewood Commons, including a 100,000 square foot AMC Theatres facility. Her institutional client list includes the General Electric Pension Fund, Silverpeak Real Estate Partners, Waterton Assoc./CalSTRS, Kennedy Associates, and Apollo Real Estate Advisors. Ms. Karr has exclusively represented national companies, including Viacom and ABN AMRO in the disposition of excess retail property. She has completed more than 500 retail transactions during her career. Her successful leasing assignments include the commercial components of The John Hancock Center, Citigroup Center/Metra Station, Sears Tower, One Magnificent Mile at 980 North Michigan Avenue, the Gage Building on Michigan Avenue, Block 37, and Deerfield Village Centre, the mixed-use downtown revitalization of an upscale Chicago suburb.
