Lloyd Bakan is a Principal at Avison Young and a commercial real estate investment sales specialist with 39 years of industry experience. His focus is on representing property owners and investors in the sale of office buildings, retail properties, and industrial warehouse assets ranging from $1 million to $20 million throughout the Greater Bay Area.
Since joining Avison Young in 2014, Lloyd has continued a distinguished career centered on maximizing value for owners through expert guidance in investment sales, landlord representation, acquisitions, development strategy, and financial structuring. Prior to Avison Young, he served as Executive Vice President at Coldwell Banker Commercial, where he built a reputation as one of the firm’s top-performing brokers nationwide.
Over the course of his career, Lloyd has closed more than $2 billion in commercial real estate transactions on behalf of institutional and private owners. He has led numerous high-profile assignments, including build-to-suit transactions, master planning, and incentive negotiations for organizations such as Tetra Tech, John Hancock, Hasbro, LA Fitness, ING Direct, Arthur Andersen, New World Pictures, and UCLA. His experience includes directing the disposition of major California assets, including the sale of 100 Wilshire Boulevard, a 250,000-square-foot office building.
Lloyd’s performance has earned him exceptional industry recognition, including #1 Sales Professional in the U.S., #1 Leasing Professional nationally for three consecutive years, and #1 Broker in California on three separate occasions. In 2009, he was named #1 Global Producer companywide. He is the only broker in Coldwell Banker Commercial history to receive the firm’s Platinum Circle of Distinction Award for 12 consecutive years.
