McLaren "Mac" Westland has spent most of his adult life serving his country and community as an enlisted infantry soldier and is currently a military intelligence officer. His army reserve duty consists of serving as the Assistant Professor of Military Science at the Virginia Military Institute. Mac’s military service includes serving in diverse locations around the world to include a combat tour in Iraq in 2011.
Mac has an awesome blended family consisting of his wife Jill and their 6 teenage children two of which are in college. They also have a German Short Haired Pointer named Scout and a cat named Inky. They live in Roanoke City where Jill works as a Speech Language Therapist.
