Marcelle is a graduate of York University and speaks English, French, Spanish, German and Afrikaans.
Marcelle’s career in the shopping centre industry spans over 20 years. Passionate about retail, Marcelle has built her career on integrity, a commitment to excellence and a stubborn refusal to accept the status quo.
Marcelle has been associated at a senior level with major landlords throughout her career and was instrumental in the repositioning and remerchandising of diverse retail portfolios across Canada. With a keen eye for merchandise mix, Marcelle has an ability to implement strategies from large scale renovations and expansions to repositioning, rebranding and remerchandising existing properties , which not only result in significant value creation for the owner but also increase sales productivity in the projects. These properties include regional shopping centres, mixed-use urban properties and lifestyle centres.
Having grown up in South Africa until the age of fourteen, Marcelle’s roots have always been important to her. Fond memories and a deep love for the home she grew up in in Cape Town spawned the creation of the company name “Beauleigh” which she founded in 1995.
