I am the founder, primary broker and owner of Teton Valley Realty along with my wife Julie, Associate Broker and Office Manager. I moved to Teton Valley in 1976, though born in Ohio and raised and educated in Florida where I resided until age 26. My educational background includes certification as an aviation technician, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Social Work. The Metro life in South Florida drove me west. I wanted to find a mountainous, rural setting with less dense population, preferring more earthy people, lower humidity, more clean air, wildlife and natural beauty, where I could raise a family and pursue my own business career.
Gaining experience in real estate sales for just a few years prompted me to open my own brokerage and development company, which has been my gainful occupation every since. I have schooled, nurtured and supported dozens of sales associates over my years as a designated broker and company owner. Over three decades I have developed and sold out more than 15 quality residential projects in Teton Valley Idaho and Wyoming. Many of my developed projects have been owned by regional farm & ranch neighbors and investors. These developments helped to generate substantial profits and income to support them through their retirement years. I provide Development services including design layout, engineer and architectural coordination, drafting project covenants, contracting infrastructure installation, marketing and sales, HOA organization, and structure design review & approval. I have numerous satisfied clients and will provide those references upon request.
Currently, I am the Managing Member of an LLC developing a mixed-use commercial/residential community known as 300 Main Driggs. I own the Town and Country Cedar Homes franchise for Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming and have provided Construction Management services for quality custom homes in Teton Valley since 1998. I have built my own Town & Country custom residence as well as the Teton Valley Realty Office, a 9,000 square foot Town & Country model - no cardboard renderings necessary to depict what I build...just walk inside and make yourself at home. Apart from my real estate business, my other interests are many and diverse, including domestic time with my wife and 4 children, a 45 year commitment to regimented gym exercise, biking and hiking in Utah, snorkeling with my good friend Kitchener Head in Maui, fishing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing, snowmobiling, raising, feeding and vet work for my horses (currently 5 head), pasture fencing and stacking hay, motorized road and dirt-biking Teton mountain roads and trails, building structures, and tractor snow blowing my 2,000 foot driveway to our hilltop home. My first valley project was to personally log-out and completely construct a 3,000 sf log home. I admit, I am a “type A Red” and I look to wear out, rather than rust out.
