Bio
Mary Swatek, Associate, joined Newmark Associates CRE in 2020 after almost 30 years of executive management in the healthcare and wellness industries. Her international career began in market research and strategic consulting for the global pharma, biotech, and diagnostics sectors. In the next decade, she took on leading roles in sales and marketing then market and business development while also managing strategic relationships and joining key initiatives with Regulatory, Scientific Affairs and Product Development teams. During the past decade as an independent consultant, she has supported executive management clients across nutritional, phytopharmaceutical, devices, and cord blood storage businesses. Well able to form strategic partnerships, critically identify market opportunities and manage all stages of contract negotiations and execution with close attention to detail, Ms. Swatek brings finely-honed communication skills to guide clients through the intricacies of commercial real estate transactions. Having cultivated an extensive network across diverse industries and professions, she brings reliable resources to her offering of Buyer/Seller agency, Tenant/Landlord representation, valuation and consulting services, office, retail and industrial sales and leasing transactions primarily in the Northern New Jersey market, particularly in Bergen County. Ms. Swatek was born and raised in Bergen County. With a talent for communicating complex science and concepts in consumer-friendly language, Mary has authored numerous publications for the healthcare industry including a peer-reviewed article published in the scientific journal, Trace Elements and Electrolytes. She was selected for her groundbreaking product launch to Advertising Age magazine’s Marketing 100, an honor awarded to the top 100 innovative and inspiring marketers of the year across the United States. Mary is a Board Member and Grants Manager for the Tenafly Educational Foundation (TEF) and, as an alumna of Bergen LEADS, is a founding member of Alumni of Bergen LEADS (ABL) where her leadership positions have included Steering Committee Vice Chair, and Chairperson of ABL’s Continuing Education sub-Committee. A fitness enthusiast, she plays competitive tennis and paddle in an interclub league, and loves skiing, kayaking, hiking, yoga, golf, and horseback riding. Her favorite activity is to bring people together and feed them with her cooking and baking. A resident of Bergen County, Mary has a 22-year-old daughter, a 19-year-old son, and one “very sweet, loyal four-legged child” –her mixed breed rescue dog.
