As Managing Director, Matt's focus is primarily on acquisition underwriting, asset management, and investor relations. He joined NAIEF in 2015 to start the Investment Management Division, an investment advisory and management group which provides solutions to investors seeking direct real estate investment. Matt has overseen and directed the raise of $17.5 million of private capital through the company’s proprietary investment funds, Appian Investments I, LLC and Appian investments II, LLC while ensuring proper execution of asset-level business plans for the Funds’ portfolio properties.
Matt is responsible for the execution of the Division’s strategic initiatives. In this role, he develops and manages key relationships with operating and development partners as well as investors and capital providers while overseeing the evaluation and recommendation of investment deals to the Funds’ Investment Committee. Through Appian I and II Matt and the Investment Management team have led or participated in over $200 million worth of acquisition and development projects in South Carolina, Georgia and Texas, and over $50 million of dispositions.
