Matt is a leading investment real estate broker offering research, custom consulting and advisory services with a laser sharp focus on the commercial real estate market and the housing industry. He provides clear direction in the age of information overload. Matt is a Marin native and began his business career in the financial services sector before transitioning to real estate and becoming a licensed broker in 2001. Along with being a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), he is also a member of the National Association of Realtors, the California Apartment Association and the Marin Association of Realtors.
Matt co-founded Lake Merritt Commercial Real Estate in 2003, which specialized in multi-family, retail, industrial and office properties. After honing his skills in the commercial arena, in 2008 he co-founded UrbanSpace Real Estate Services, a boutique real estate business that managed and sold residential, commercial, and development property in the Downtown Oakland Historic District.
Since moving to Marin in 2008, Matt has become intimately acquainted with both the residential and commercial real estate landscape there, providing his clients with highly accurate market analyses as well as expertise in procuring investment properties. He is also well versed in the use of creative investment strategies such as 1031 exchanges to maximize cash flow and increase internal rates of return, while deferring capital gains taxes.
