Bio
Matt was born in Billings and home-schooled from Kindergarten up to 12th grade. Matt has always had a passion for real estate and enjoys downtown historic atmosphere by staying active on numerous non-profit boards like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Downtown Billings Partnership and the Board of Directors for Rotary Club. Matt likes to golf (he actually enjoys it) and volleyball (his wife enjoys it). But mostly in his spare time he works on properties whether it be with a hammer or calculator. The man loves his job.
Experience
In college, he graduated top of his class with a degree in Business Administration with an option in Finance from M.S.U. Billings. While in school, he worked as a portfolio analyst for American Express. He finished up his coursework in 2004, the same year he earned his real estate sales associate license. For the next year Matt waited tables, stayed full-time at American Express and sold residential and commercial real estate on the side.
In 2006, he left American Express transitioning full-time into commercial and residential real estate sales. By 2008, Matt was working almost exclusively in commercial real estate joining NAI Business Properties in 2009.
With NAI, Matt fulfilled the requirements for a broker's license and, since that time, has worked extensively in the community representing R.J. Corman Derailment Services (11,500 SF Leased), General Services Administration (G.S.A.) office building ($325,000 Lease), Café DeCamp, Murdock Dentistry, Kinetic Marketing Group, Step-By-Step Oil Transport Services, Northwestern Scientific, Cornerstone Financial and Coach America.
Matt has developed a niche for Non-Profit work in the community placing national and local firms alike. He placed Word of Life Assembly, Job Connection, Habitat for Humanity and United Way in Billings. These deals varied in length and complexity needing as much as 2.5 years to locate the right building, negotiate and close.
The hardest component of Matt to communicate, through text, is his passion surrounding investments and portfolio management. He loves working with clients to help mitigate their risk by analyzing their current holdings and identifying ways to maximize client wealth. He manages his personal portfolio consisting of residential, office, retail, and industrial space amounting to over 50,000 SF.
