As Senior Managing Director of GFI Realty Services, Inc. Matthew Sparks is responsible for expanding GFI’s Realty Services division and training junior brokers on the strategies and techniques involved in successfully brokering transactions. Mr. Sparks began his career in 1993 as a junior associate for GFI Realty Services, where he was initially responsible for sourcing new business for the company’s top brokers. His entrepreneurial persona and assiduous work ethic soon resulted in the establishment of his own active client base and promotion to his current position. Mr. Sparks prides himself on his longstanding, well established relationships with his clientele, and his sophisticated market knowledge in which he educates his clients. His primary focus is on properties in the Harlem sector of New York City, specifically federally subsidized housing. Over the past few years, Mr. Sparks has transacted $750 million- $1 billion in properties. He was responsible for closing the Marion Scott portfolio in Northern Manhattan. This government subsidized housing portfolio consists of 900 units and sold for $90 million. Mr. Sparks brokered the sale of 50 buildings in this market with an aggregate value of $175 million. He graduated from SUNY Old Westbury with a B.A. in Accounting.
