Professional Expertise Mike Griffin is Co-Head of Florida Region, Vice Chairman for Savills while maintaining a diverse occupier services practice that provides integrated real estate services for clients in Florida, domestically and around the world. By applying a consultative, client-centric approach to tenant representation, particularly for multi-market accounts, he has completed assignments totaling more than 13.1 million square feet in more than 18 states and 15 countries. Mike represents clients across industry sectors -- from Fortune 500 companies to all levels of government. His team represents many of Florida’s leading private sector tenants and has completed many recent high-profile transactions -- including the first Fortune 500 relocation in Tampa’s history, and the first office lease in the city’s new Water Street development. Mike and his team also represent some of the largest space users in the southeast, including the State of Florida and State of Georgia, as well as other public sector and higher education institutions. A recognized expert in the industry, he is a sought-after speaker and advisor to government and professional organizations and a frequent contributor to real estate publications. Mike joined Savills with its acquisition of Vertical Integration, a Florida-based firm providing integrated, full-service real estate solutions domestically and abroad for corporate and government entities. He led the firm’s tenant representation practice for 11 years. Prior to starting his career, Mike served as two-term president of the student body at the University of South Florida, where he served as a charter member of the USF Board of Trustees for two years. Awards, Achievements and Activities Mike served for more than eight years as founding chairman for the USF (University of South Florida) Financing Corporation Board of Directors, overseeing more than $1.2 billion in bond financing for 1.8 million SF of projects -- from residence halls to sophisticated medical research buildings and office space. He is currently a member of the USF Board of Trustees, where he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Finance Committee. Mike is also Past Chairman of USF’s National Alumni Association Board of Directors. Since 2004, he has been an active member of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and was recognized in 2017 as the youngest Chairman in its 130-year history. In 2017, he also received a gubernatorial appointment to the Tampa Port Authority Board of Commissioners. In addition, Mike is a member of the Junior Achievement Florida Foundation Board of Directors and serves alongside his wife as the Co-Chair of the 2022 American Heart Association Heart Ball. Mike is also a member of the Board of Directors of Lions World Vision, the largest combined eye bank, tissue recovery and ocular research center in the world. Mike is an Eagle Scout. Mike is the inaugural recipient of the Tampa Bay Chamber’s Deanne Dewey Roberts Emerging Leader Award, and in 2007, was USF’s Young Alumnus of the Year. Mike was also one of the youngest named in Florida Trend’s 50th Anniversary Issue as one of Florida’s 50 World Changers, and recently, was recognized by the Tampa Bay Times as one of the top 25 most influential business leaders in Tampa Bay, a Power 100 by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, a Maverick PAC Future 40 national leader in business and public policy and was named one of Top 100 most influential people in Florida by Influence Magazine. Mike is also listed as a member of the Florida Trend 500. In 2024, Mike was presented by his Savills colleagues with the Julian J Studley Award, his firm`s highest recognition in North America.
