Bio
Mike Higgins is a senior vice president at CBRE, partnering with one of the nation's top institutional multifamily teams based in Phoenix. He will specialize in sourcing joint venture and development equity for multifamily developers and owners. Before joining CBRE, Mike served as a senior director in the Phoenix office of JLL Capital Markets, Americas, where he worked with private and institutional principals resulting in over $1.1 billion in transactions across multifamily investment sales, land sales and equity placements. He joined JLL as part of the Holliday Fenoglio Fowler (HFF) acquisition in 2019. Mike relocated to the firm's Phoenix office in January 2018 to help start the region’s multifamily team. During his time with both companies in Phoenix, Mike worked on a variety of multifamily transactions. Most recently, he has worked closely with developers on joint venture partnerships which resulted in over $550 million in total project capitalizations. These development projects are located across metro Phoenix in a range of product types from suburban garden to infill-wrap, to a downtown high-rise. Prior to relocating to Phoenix, Mike worked in HFF's Chicago office and helped grow the firm’s national student housing business, closing over $1.6 billion in transactions across numerous states. During this time, he represented the University of Chicago in the $135 million sale of three separate, scattered-site, student housing portfolios across 33 properties and seven land sites, as well as representing the seller of a three-property portfolio totaling $105 million near Florida Atlantic University, and a three-property portfolio near the University of Texas, Austin campus for $131 million. He had previously worked in Phoenix under Higgins Development Partners, where he was the development manager overseeing the 1.2 million sq. ft. mixed-use SkySong development in Scottsdale. Mike holds an MBA with a concentration in real estate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree from Providence College.
