In 2008, Mike Fitzgerald established Fitzgerald Development Services, LLC, bringing his extensive expertise to project development. Alongside his own company, he partnered with Hailey Development, where his complementary skills optimized all phases of development. Fitzgerald provided development management services for various projects managed by Hailey Development, becoming a key partner in numerous ventures.
Fitzgerald began his career as a college intern with a major road construction firm, which sparked his interest in the industry. After graduating in 1984, he joined Orchard Development, a local development company, where he managed all aspects of residential land development, including commercial and apartment site development. This experience laid the groundwork for his future success.
Fitzgerald’s career advanced when he joined Pulte Homes, one of the nation’s largest homebuilders. He rose through the ranks to Vice President of Land, overseeing acquisitions, entitlements, and development projects in the Baltimore-Washington metro area and Delaware’s eastern shore. His responsibilities included managing land deals, financial analysis, and due diligence processes for both raw and finished properties.
With his civil engineering background, Fitzgerald played a major role in the design and layout of market-rate and active adult communities. He was instrumental in planning communities ranging from 30 to 3,500 units, often incorporating large recreational facilities. Fitzgerald’s ability to navigate complex projects and focus on both the practical and financial aspects made him a key player in successful developments throughout his career.
At Pulte, Fitzgerald’s leadership in strategic direction and land acquisition helped the company expand into new markets. His technical expertise, combined with his leadership in site design and project management, enabled him to contribute to high-quality, sustainable communities. Whether through Orchard Development, Pulte Homes, or his work with Fitzgerald Development Services and Hailey Development, Fitzgerald has remained a trusted leader in real estate development.
