Mindy Saffer is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional and Principal at West, Lane & Schlager (WLS), a commercial real estate firm based in Washington, D.C. Mindy has significantly contributed to the association and nonprofit community throughout her 20-year career in the commercial real estate industry and has developed a reputation for excellence in commercial real estate leasing. Currently, her primary focus is the representation of office tenants in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.
Mindy’s enthusiastic commitment to customer service coupled with her understanding of the real estate market, have helped her secure many high-profile and repeat clients, including nonprofits, trade associations, law firms, government affair offices and corporations. She has represented her tenants on renewals of existing leases, renegotiations of existing leases, negotiations of new leases, sales of office buildings and the acquisition of commercial buildings. Some of her clients include Feeding America, National Parks Conservation Association, National Recycling Coalition, Save the Children, Open Society Institute, the Association of Public Television Stations, America''s Second Harvest, Slevin & Hart, P.C., General Atomics and FOX News Channel.
Prior to joining WLS, Mindy had been involved in various aspects of commercial real estate in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. She spent 10 years as a Marketing Consultant for several real estate related companies such as a commercial interior architecture firm, a general contracting firm, a MEP Engineering firm and an office relocation firm. This experience has enhanced her capability to offer her current clients knowledge about the full office design and relocation process.
Mindy’s background and experience in project management includes space programming, space planning, ADA/Fire/Life/Safety code issues, interior design, construction administration and price negotiations. These skills directly benefit Mindy’s clients in her capacity as a full service real estate advisor.
In 2005, Mindy was the recipient of the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors’ Rising Star Award and has consistently been awarded top producer at WLS. Mindy has represented tenants on over 1 million square feet of office space leases/purchases and sales. In 2009, Mindy was the first leasing broker at the firm to be promoted to Principal.
Mindy received her MS in Marketing from Johns Hopkins University in 1995. She received a BS in Textile Marketing from the University of Maryland in 1986.
Mindy is a currently on the board of the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors and is a member of both the Realtors Multi-Million Dollar Leasing Club and the District of Columbia Building Industry Association. In addition to being an active member of the Financial & Administrative Roundtable, she is actively involved with ASAE. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, received her Masters at Johns Hopkins University and previously spent over 10 years in the commercial design and construction industry before joining WLS in 1999.
