Mitti Liebersohn is chairman, New York brokerage. In his current role, Mitti works closely with the firm’s market and regional leaders on business development, recruiting, growing revenue, and building strategic industry relationships.
Mitti is a national leader in the commercial real estate industry with over 40 years of experience. Prior to joining Savills, Mitti served as President and Managing Director of Avison Young’s New York City office where it more than doubled in size and increased revenue by 200%. He was previously a Vice Chairman at Jones Lang LaSalle and Cushman & Wakefield, where he oversaw numerous national account portfolios and building agencies.
Awards, Achievements and Activities
Mitti has an accomplished career that includes being involved in several high-profile transactions eclipsing the 100,000 square foot mark. Recently, Mitti represented Santander Bank in a 160,000 square foot relocation of its NYC headquarters to 437 Madison Avenue, the Hospital for Special Surgery in its 200,000 square foot expansion to 403 East 79th Street and BDO’s 150,000 square foot relocation of its New York headquarters to 200 Park Avenue. He also represented Deloitte in their 500,000 square foot consolidation and relocation to 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York Life’s 400,000 square foot lease renewal at 63 Madison Avenue and the 500,000 square foot AXA Equitable lease renewal at 1290 Avenue of the Americas. Mitti has been ranked consistently over the last 10 years as one of Commercial Observers “Power 100”, the 100 most powerful people in commercial real estate.
Personal & Professional Affiliations
Mitti is a Chairman Emeritus of the Young Mens/Womens Real Estate Association of New York, is on the Chairman’s council of the Make A Wish Foundation of Metro New York, and currently serves on numerous Board of Directors including the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute of Baruch College, the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, the Museum of American Finance and is the current President of American Friends of Rabin Medical Center.
