Bio
Choosing the right broker matters. Nicholas Planamento has evolved into one of the most effective real estate brokers on the East End's North Fork, dominating in the sale of waterfront residences, agricultural/farm properties (including vineyards), commercial investments and the full scope of real estate opportunities. Long Island's Pulse Magazine named Nicholas Suffolk County's "Best 2015 Buyers Agent". During 2014, he sold more bay-front homes than any other North Fork real estate agent.
His success is the logical result of his decades of experience, professional knowledge, integrity and unsurpassed dedication to buyers and sellers with whom he works day in, day out. A consummate salesman, Nicholas understands the importance of establishing equitable relationships through honesty and quality, Concierge Service. His unparalleled network of buyers, sellers and professionals make dreams come true and investments great.
With a keen eye for quality design and workmanship, founded on his post-graduate education at CCNY School of Architecture & Engineering and a solid understanding of it, Nicholas has always been described as a creative person. He also holds a B.A. in History and a B.B.A. in Marketing from Pace University.
His peers voted him HANFRA (Hamptons and North Fork Realtors Association) Realtor of the Year 2014 as a result of his commitment to the industry and knowledge of the market. Nicholas is recognized by NYSAR (New York State Association of Realtors) for his contributions to the profession and is a 2012 graduate of NYSAR's prestigious Leadership Academy - one of a small, elite group statewide.
Nicholas represented HANFRA for two terms as President in 2012 and 2013, having first served on the Board as a general member and later as Secretary. He is a Commissioner of the Suffolk County Planning Commission by County Legislator appointment, Member of the Southold 375th Anniversary Committee of the Town of Southold, and an active Member of the Southold Architectural Review Committee, under the Town's Planning Board. In addition to being active in the local Chambers of Commerce, his is also a Member of the Southold Town Board of Assessment Review, reconciling town tax grievances.
Nicholas grew up in northern Westchester and relocated to the North Fork, from Greenwich, Connecticut, nearly two decades ago. He has always loved the North Fork - and the quality of life Southold Town offers: an abundance of natural beauty, along with the farm to table culture and the community's rich and vibrant history. The North Fork is an ideal fit for him.
Licensed as a Realtor first in the 1980's, Nicholas was active in the Hudson Valley mainly in the rural communities of Millbrook, Rhinebeck and historic Poughkeepsie, prior to joining a Benefits Consulting firm and working in-house, via the HR Department at Deutsche Bank in NYC and Chicago. After September 11th, Nicholas focused his sales career on North Fork real estate and started Buyers Connections Realty, in a popular, local shop he owned, La Ferme de la Mer, located on Mattituck's historic Love Lane. Joining Town & Country in 2009, the East End's largest independent real estate brokerage firm, Nicholas is recognized as one of the East End's Top Broker's. Nicholas lives at Horton's Point and loves to experience all the North Fork has to offer, especially, sailing on his Alberg30 "Jaunty" or out with his Golden Retriever DeWitt, beachcombing. Always accessible, Nicholas is usually about town, working in his gardens, or cooking at home for friends and family.
