In December 2007, he was a co-founder of West End office agency BDG Sparkes Porter which grew to a team of 10 agents. The journey started in an attic room on Percy Street and ended 12 years later on Savile Row in an office with a lift, LED lights and even air-conditioning!
He studied Japanese at University and then spent 2 years living in a rural Japanese rice-farming village, working as an Assistant Language Teacher in the local High School. The main reason he went was to meet Japanese people, learn the language and immerse himself in the culture – although on the plane from London to Tokyo in July 1998, he met his wife and they have been together ever since. She is not Japanese!
