BISON Partners operates retail properties across the western United States, partnering with leading institutional capital partners as well as high-net-worth individuals and family offices.
While at CBRE, the Newport Beach team (now based in Irvine, CA) sold more than 1,080 retail properties totaling over $15 billion in value on behalf of some of the most prominent investors in the industry.
Before joining CBRE and its Private Capital Group in Newport Beach—CBRE’s first Private Capital Group team nationally—in 2001, he worked for an Orange County-based retail developer specializing in site acquisition and brokerage of “coastal commercial” properties in Southern California. His development background and extensive retail experience have proven particularly valuable to clients seeking value-added or repositioning opportunities, as well as those selling complex retail projects.
In 2007, he and Todd Goodman merged their teams to form the National Retail Partners – West team, combining his private capital expertise and systematic, database-driven marketing approach with Goodman’s deep experience with institutional clients and anchored centers. Focused primarily on representing sellers as exclusive listing agents, the team has sold more than 740 retail properties totaling approximately $11.3 billion in value as of Q1 2019.
Since 2012, NRP-West has sold over 320 retail properties totaling more than $5.3 billion in value (Q1 2019). During this period, the team has averaged nearly 96% of list price and 101% of “probable” pricing per RFP, demonstrating exceptional consistency and reliability.
In 2015, he was recognized as CBRE’s #1 retail investment broker nationally, closing 63 transactions exceeding $947 million in value alongside his NRP-West teammates.
In 2018, the NRP-West team closed 67 transactions totaling approximately $1 billion. That same year, he earned the title of Vice Chairman, CBRE’s highest producer designation, becoming one of only two Vice Chairmen in retail.
Outside of real estate, he is an FAA-certified private pilot with nearly 2,000 flight hours and holds instrument and multi-engine ratings.
