Bio
Ramsey Wright joined Kidder Mathews in 2022, specializing in retail and mixed-use urban infill real estate along the I-880 corridor, focusing on the Oakland, Berkeley, and Emeryville submarkets. Much of Ramsey’s work involves the food and beverage sector, including wineries and breweries. His knowledge of the market has brought him a wide variety of clients, ranging from landlords consisting of institutional developers or individual property owners, to tenant clients ranging from corporate clients or individual property owners.
Prior to real estate, Ramsey worked 14 years as a builder on projects that included UC Berkeley, Ghiradelli Square, and Pets Unlimited. That building expertise is what he uses daily – whether he is advising a client on prepping a property for sale, helping layout floor plans or negotiating tenant improvements for a client; Ramsey is always available to offer his time and advice to his clients through the transaction process. Having practiced in Oakland and the adjacent municipalities for over 11 years, Ramsey’s connections run deep in both the private and public sector. He prides himself with gaining clients through the approval and development phases quickly and effectively.
Ramsey is very active in both the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Urban Land Institute. As a board member of the Lake Merritt/Uptown Business Improvement District, he helps develop and oversee the strategic spending plan to enhance the vibrancy and appeal of the area. He is very passionate about Oakland and the dynamic renaissance currently transforming the city, especially in the food and beverage scene. When not working on deals and being an advocate for the Oakland community, he enjoys running along Lake Merritt and catching an A’s game.
