Bio
Ray is a Principal and the COO of Providence, with the primary responsibilities for operating strategy, operating execution and financial performance of the current portfolio of real estate. In addition, he assists with acquisition strategy and execution across the Southeast as well as Asset Management efforts.
Ray has over 20 years of multifamily experience in management, acquisition, disposition and development of garden, mid-rise and high-rise apartment homes across the high-growth cities of the Sunbelt and Mid-Atlantic states. In doing so, being party to real estate transactions totaling well over $4 billion. Most recently, Ray served as Executive Vice-President of Colonial Properties Trust, one of the country's premier real estate investment trusts (REIT's). During his tenure, he led them through an explosive growth period from just under 20,000 apartment homes to just under 50,000 apartment homes and an enterprise value of $3.5 billion. (with over 1,000 associates and 120 properties located across the Sunbelt, Southwest and Mid-Atlantic).
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Central Florida. During his career he has been involved and led a number of local and state industry and civic groups to include National Multi-Housing Council, Alabama Apartment Association, National Apartment Association and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Birmingham.
