The principal of Berns Commercial Properties is Richard Berns. Richard has over 28 years experience in real estate acquisition and management primarily in Austin and Dallas. He has been personally involved in all aspects of commercial real estate investment, including acquisition, management, leasing, renovation, and disposition. Richard's experience covers a number of different types of real estate, including over 375,000 square feet of office and warehouse space in the Austin area, 400+ unit apartment projects in Dallas, and student residential dormitories on the campuses of the University of Texas, Texas A&M, and Arizona State University. In 1990, Richard began raising capital for the acquisition of real estate projects. Over the last 15 years, Richard has been responsible for the acquisition of five office buildings and one office flex project in Austin, and two apartment properties in Dallas.
Typically, Richard remains closely involved with the properties he acquires, overseeing daily management and leasing. It is Richard's philosophy that management oversight by an owner/manager maximizes an investment's long term value.
