Rich joined Edgemark in 2015 as Vice President with a focus on Investment Sales. He has over 35 years of experience in many facets of commercial and investment real estate including sales, leasing and property management. Prior to joining Edgemark, Rich served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Real Estate at Heartland Bank & Trust where he was head of special assets in the Chicago MSA and was responsible for resolving all non-performing CRE loans and REO dispositions. He also managed the due diligence on CRE portfolio exposure related to banks HBT acquired from the FDIC where he successfully resolved over $150 million in nonperforming CRE loan exposure and REO. Rich’s background includes serving as Managing Director and Head of Commercial Real Estate & Portfolio Management for over 15 years at J.P. Morgan, Bank One and First Chicago. His responsibilities included managing a $38 billion national CRE portfolio with oversight of nonperforming CRE loans and the disposition of commercial REO properties located across the United States. Rich’s experience at JPM also involved managing a team responsible for proprietary investing of over $800 million in high-yield CRE positions that included CMBS, distressed loans, mezzanine debt, preferred equity and opportunistic funds. Rich is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, a licensed Illinois Real Estate Managing Broker and a designated Certified Property Manager by the Institute of Real Estate Management. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from St. Norbert College in DePere, WI and serves on the Village of Oak Brook Planning Commission.
