Robert Flippin recently joined CB Richard Ellis, the world’s largest full service commercial real estate firm, as an Executive Vice President. In its New York City office, Mr. Flippin’s primary focus will include having responsibility for New York Tri-State region new business development and implementation, as well as the management of several large domestic and international corporate accounts.
Throughout his 20-year career, Mr. Flippin has been actively involved in several of the largest and most noteworthy transactions in the metropolitan area. Among these high-profile tenant representation transactions are European American Bank’s 400,000 s. f. headquarters lease in Uniondale, Long Island; numerous major transactions on behalf of Morgan Stanley, including the development of 1.2 million SF at 745 Seventh Avenue and expansions throughout New York City and New Jersey, including 1633 Broadway, 1221 Avenue of the Americas, 111 Pavonia and the Mount Kemple Corporate Center; numerous transactions on behalf of Merrill Lynch including their purchase of 222 Broadway, a 760,000 SF building and large leases at 2 World Financial Center; a 47,000 SF lease for Atlantic Mutual Companies at 140 Broadway; 30,000 SF of disposition assignments on behalf of Nomura Securities; the 52,000 SF headquarters relocation of Tokio Marine Management to 230 Park Avenue; over 100,000 SF of transactions for Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, renewal and expansion assignments for over 100,000 SF on behalf of Weiss Peck and Greer at 1 New York Plaza; over 100,000 SF of projects for AOL/Time Warner divisions in the metropolitan area. Mr. Flippin has represented Agere Systems for over 200,000 SF in two suburban New Jersey lease acquisitions.
Mr. Flippin recently completed a 250,000 SF renewal and expansion for the law firm Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw at 1675 Broadway and a major expansion for the Mizuho Corporate Bank at 1251 Avenue of the Americas. Other recent transactions include 50,000 SF of expansion representing MasterCard at 100 Manhattanville Road in Purchase New York; JP Morgan Chase in a 100,000 SF renewal in Fort Washington, PA, and the New York City relocation of Endurance Reinsurance to 35,000 SF at 750 Third Avenue from 230 Park Avenue.
As agent for major landlords and ownerships, Mr. Flippin was instrumental in completing a 104,000 SF lease to Barclays Bank on behalf of owner Merrill Lynch at 222 Broadway; over 100,000 SF of sublease and disposition assignments at 2 World Financial Center for Merrill Lynch; and a 44,000 SF sublease to Deutsche Bank on behalf of sublandlord Warner Brothers.
Recent agency assignments include the successful leasing of over 500,000 SF at 2 World Financial Center for Merrill Lynch, as well as management of the 2.5 million SF property; and leasing and management responsibilities at 1285 Avenue of the Americas, a 1.7 million SF property, for Morgan Stanley.
