Rod has been in commercial real estate since 1975. In 1991 Rod merged his commercial real estate business, Carolina Commercial Brokers, with Miller Jones & Associates to form Miller Hatcher Commercial Real Estate. Rod also has experience as a general contractor.
Rod has been involved with the sale of over $124M in apartment properties in North Carolina. He has also listed and sold some of the largest industrial buildings in Forsyth County including the 865,000 square foot AT&T facility, the 330,000 square foot Gravely facility, and the 370,000 square foot Flakt building on Lowery Street in Winston-Salem. Rod was the developer of Ridgewood Industrial Park and numerous medical office buildings.
Rod’s specialties include Tenant Representation for retail and industrial properties, Commercial Sales, Multi-Family Purchase and Sales, and Investment Real Estate Purchase and Sales. Rod received a BA from Guilford College in 1974 and then moved to Winston-Salem. Rod has served as President of the Winston-Salem Jaycees and Chairman of the Realtors Commercial Listing Alliance. Rod was the first in Forsyth County to hold the prestigious designation of a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM.)Gravely Facility, and the 370,000 square foot Flakt building on Lowery Street. Rod was the developer of Ridgewood Industrial Park and numerous medical office buildings. Rod works with a broad range of clients such as McDonald’s whom he has represented in the Triad and Western Piedmont area since 1987.
