Ryan applies his extensive retail leasing and development experience to provide effective market strategies for both institutional owners and leading retailers.
Ryan joined Western Retail Advisors as a Partner in 2016. Since then, he has led the firm’s Landlord Representation team from its initial foundation to over 16 million square feet under listing. Ryan is a member of the company’s executive committee and a driving force behind the company culture.
Ryan spent over a decade working with premier retail property owners, Vestar in Phoenix and First Washington Realty in Washington D.C., where he gained broad industry understanding overseeing leasing, development and acquisition efforts. His deep market knowledge coupled with an ingrained ownership mentality provide landlords like Shopcore, Vestar, RPAI, Westwood Financial, SyWest and First Washington Realty with an effective, solutions-based approach.
Ryan has built a diverse tenant representation practice representing tenants such as Daiso, Mutt’s Canine Cantina, Harkins Theatres, Bob’s Discount Furniture, Allbirds, Restore Hyper Wellness, Barry’s Boot Camp, Blue Pearl Pet Hospitals and Restoration Hardware. He provides his clients with tailored solutions ranging from site selection, new market rollouts, existing store analysis, and project management on “ground up” developments.
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Loyola Marymount University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Ryan is an involved member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, has served on the Boards of both the Heard Museum and the HBS Alumni Club of Arizona, and is a current member of the St. Francis Xavier School Board. Ryan lives in Phoenix with Meredith and his three children, Ellie, Patrick, and Tatum.
