Bio
Sarah S. Norlander is a Vice President responsible for leasing space in Mid-America’s institutionally owned retail property portfolio. Ms. Norlander began her career in the retail real estate business in 2009 and joined Mid-America Asset Management in 2011 specializing solely in Landlord representation. Ms. Norlander has extensive experience in an array of retail product types including leasing of mixed-use suburban downtown developments, ground-up projects, power centers and traditional grocery anchored centers. Ms. Norlander’s responsibilities include developing custom merchandising plans for each shopping center and actively marketing and negotiating retail space to new and existing tenants. Additional responsibilities for each property include creating deal specific analysis, overall property impact analysis, and developing feasible execution plans. Sarah attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business with a major in Marketing. She also received a minor in International Business after spending a semester at Miami University’s European Campus in Luxembourg. While at Miami University, she served as Vice President of Communications for her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, and was a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a professional fraternity specializing in marketing, sales management, and selling. Ms. Norlander is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the Women in Retail Leasing (WIRL) Association and is a member of the Junior Board for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She resides in Western Springs with her husband and three children.
