Sean Sears is the founder and managing partner of Blackseeds LLC. Blackseeds LLC is focus on investment and capital market sales in addition to long term lease execution. His responsibilities include the management of sales operations, transactional service, and client relations. Prior to starting Blackseeds, Sean was a Director at CPEX Real Estate (2019-2020) where he led a team of dedicated sales professionals that focus on the generation and execution of Mix-ed Use properties. Before taking on the role of Director of the Mixed-Use team, Mr. Sears was the Associate Director of the Development and Conversion Sales Team at CPEX Real Estate (2014-2018) where him and his team earned the recognition of Costar (2018) “Power Brokers”.
While at CPEX Sean provide advisory, acquisition, and transactional services to commercial real estate owners, not-for- profit institutions, and business owners, including sales, joint ventures, and long-term leases. To date he has evaluated and underwritten over 171 properties and personally executed the sale of over 98 transactions, sold over 313 thousand square feet of existing property with an aggregate value of approximately $337 million and a total of 1.75M buildable square feet.
CPEX was not Sean’s first venture into real estate. Prior, Sean held several positions including Residential Broker at Citi Habitats/Corcoran, Preston Properties, and the Siderow Organization. In these positions, he has completed a wide variety of lease and sales transactions for condominiums, co-operatives, town houses, art galleries, and office space.
Sean also spent time as a proprietary equity trader for a select group of boutique trading firms, which included managing a New York Stock Exchange portfolio worth over $5 million while at Hold Brothers. In addition, he previously worked in restaurant management and customer service in New York City, including the Time Hotel, where he oversaw the overall operation of the restaurant and lounge as the maître’ d and general manager.
Sean is a graduate of the University of Guyana with an Agriculture and Environmental Science degree. He also studied at CUNY Hunter College and received a certificate in Property Management, and Real Estate Development from the Schack Institute of Real Estate at the New York University School of Professional Studies. He is proficient in Spanish from having lived in the Caribbean and traveling to several other Spanish-speaking countries around the world. Sean has also given time as a volunteer for the Special Olympics and the development of affordable housing, including in Antigua and Barbuda.
