Shawn Barashy came to the United States from the State of Israel in 1981 to join his family in New York. Mr. Barashy owned a clothing store in Manhattan before purchasing a full service gas station, auto repair and used car dealership, which he owned and operated for four years. Additionally in 1983, Mr. Barashy took over
a neighborhood supermarket that was losing money. He turned it around and sold it for a substantial profit two years later. In 1986, Shawn settled in Southern California. He acquired a poorly managed auto repair shop in Hollywood, and again turned it into a very successful business, this time adding car sales, a towing company and a taxi/limousine service. Shawn purchased his first Las Vegas property in 1990 and has been active in this market ever since. In June of 1995, Mr. Barashy decided to make real estate a full time career and he became part of the Lee & Associates® Team. He brings an extensive knowledge and proven track record for acquiring, managing and turning around failing businesses. He has been an owner, user and investor of product for many years; this experience makes him ideally suited for his focus on land and properties. In his association with Lee, he has completed transactions including developer representation in land acquisitions and tenant representation with Boise Cascade, Bigelow Aerospace Development, Masco Corporation, UPS Logistics Group, Cartridges USA Cobronze Corp., Nevada Countertop, Pacific Snax, Wilmax, C.D.T., Potatoes and Vegetable Express, Water Dynamic International and Glass Emporium to name a few. In 1996, Mr. Barashy sold approximately 100 acres of industrial land, part of which was zoned RE, and through his market knowledge and expertise, he was able to rezone it to M-1. In 1997, Mr. Barashy oversaw the development of an industrial park and also successfully represented a number of landowners in selling their land in the southwest area of Las Vegas and Henderson, and the Northeast area. In 1998 Mr. Barashy successfully rented the commercial center at the NEC of Sunset and Pecos, and four other buildings in the airport area along with land sales in the southwest, southeast and northeast parts of town. In 2000, Mr. Barashy assisted in developing a six building industrial park and successfully sold most of the buildings prior to completion. In late 2001, Shawn assisted in the design and developing of a ten building industrial park and successfully sold more than half prior to completion. The rest of the buildings are still under construction. Since then Mr. Barashy has been successfully representing property owners in the Las Vegas area and is well respected in the real estate arena. He is currently marketing a number of projects in the Valley and is targeting and calling end users and developers requiring land. Mr. Barashy was promoted to Senior Vice President in October 1997 and is a Shareholder of the company. Shawn was the Top Producer two years in a row (2002, 2003) in the Las Vegas Lee & Associates® office. Through Lee & Associates®, he is an affiliate member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and the National Association for Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). His enthusiasm, experience, dedication to hard work and good-natured manner make him an important member to our team. Mr. Barashy is licensed in the State of Nevada and is a Senior Vice President and Industrial Division Manager with the firm.
