Bio
Shawn McDonald has more than 24 years of real estate experience including the structuring of Mezzanine, Construction Forward Loans, and Floating and Fixed Rate permanent debt for multi-family properties. He and the Capital Markets Finance practice’s focus is on the sourcing of capital for acquirers and owners of real estate and keeping existing owner and lender clients apprised of the ever-changing capital markets.
Prior to joining Newmark, McDonald was with JLL Capital Markets and Freddie Mac where he was the Director of Production responsible for market-rate, multifamily mortgage originations in the Southeast Region where his annual team production averaged more than $4.5 billion annually. Prior to that he was a Director of Affordable Multifamily Transactions with Apartment Investment and Management Company (AIMCO).
