Bio
IRON RIVER-With over $20 million in sales last year, Stephen Remondini of Wild Rivers Realty & Associates has been named the Top Producing real estate agent in Iron County for 2022.
UPAR, Upper Peninsula Association of Realtors, data shows Remondini closed 182 sides last year (representing the buyer and/or seller in a transaction) resulting in a record $20,300,876 in sales. Across the Upper Peninsula Association, with 389 agents, Remondini is ranked 8th highest overall in sales. His numbers were second in the 82-member local MLS.
Remondini grew up in Gaastra and graduated from West Iron County High School. After attending Gogebic Community College, he returned home. In 2014, "Jill (WRR broker/owner Jill Ponozzo) approached me about a career in real estate," he recalled, "and I said I'd take the class and give it a try."
After graduating from the Holloway institute, he received his Michigan real estate license. In 2019 he furthered his education and earned his broker's license. He continues to take classes and hone his skill.
Remondini initially established his network through personal friends who were interested in buying or selling.
In 2021, Remondini was featured in the cover story of top Agent Magazine and received a plaque of recognition. In that article, he explained the bulk of his business now comes from repeat clients and referrals. He was humbled by the trust his clients place in him.
"His clients love him," Ponozzo noted. "Real estate is his niche and he improves every year."
"I like being able to help clients find what they're looking for, or sell the property they have so they can start the next chapter. In most cases, this is the largest investment they will make."
His most memorable sale, he recalls " was the first customer I ever had. He was from Ohio and looking for a cabin. We went all over the Upper Peninsula looking at homes and cabins, and I eventually sold him the second place I'd shown him...three years later. We've stayed in contact and still get together for dinner once a year."
"I would rather show you 20 houses to find the right one for you," he explained, "than rush the process and only show you a couple of options."
Working with sellers is equally rewarding for Remondini. to market his listings, he uses a comprehensive strategy that combines traditional methods with various social media campaigns.
Ponozzo said "Stephen's work ethic and tenacity surpass the basic broker/realtor expectations. he's so helpful and such a team player. What he's done in eight years is phenomenal."
He has been Wild Rivers Realty's top producing agent for the past five consecutive years.
UPAR statistics show Remondini has gone from 60 sides closed and $5 million in sales in 2018, to 80 sides and $6.6 million in 2019, to 101 sides closed and $10 million in 2020, to 117 sides and over $11 Million in 2021, and then in 2022, a closing every two days, for a total of 182 sides closed and over $20 million.
The best part of the job is meeting people and helping them. The most difficult, he said, is coordinating everything from start to finish with no hiccups. "And there are ussually hiccups," he said. "The hardest part righ now if finding a house people like and want, because there isn't much available on the market. We have more buyers than active listings right now."
Looking at 2023, "I am hoping to beat 2022. Would I be happy? Yes. Do I expect it? No.
"I think we are going to start the year slower because there aren't many listings. If inflation corrects and rates drop, the secondary market (lake home and recreat
