Stephen Rusher joined The Econic Company in October 2023. He has built his business over 15 years, representing institutional landlords and tenants within Northern California’s Class A space market. Throughout his career, he has successfully closed transactions totaling over $400 million and has represented some of the industry’s most significant stakeholders.
Stephen has played a pivotal role in the merchandising and positioning of iconic retail assets in the Bay Area, including Town Center Corte Madera, Bay Street Emeryville, Serramonte Center, and The Streets of Brentwood, which received the SF Business Times 2008 Retail Development of the Year award. With a rich background in the food and beverage sector, he has collaborated with Michelin and James Beard award-winning concepts, elevating the dining experiences at his projects.
Among his esteemed clientele, Stephen has partnered with First Washington, Sierra Pacific Properties, UBS, Jamestown LP, Clarion Partners, TRC Retail, Boston Properties, Finn Capital, Regency Centers, and Heitman Capital Management, representing some of the most prominent landlords in Northern California.

? With his expertise in the local trade area, Stephen was able to procure the right site for Vineyard Vines in establishing their flagship store in Walnut Creek.
? Worked in close partnership with Heitman Capital Management at Town Center Corte Madera to creatively and strategically transform a CPK/PF Changs into Sephora and Flores.
? Strategically positioned Vintage Oaks Novato which ultimately attracted Nordstrom Rack.
?Stephen was entrusted by the Bay Area retail holdings of the Vice Chair of the James Beard Foundation to guide them through various food and beverage concepts.
